Vicky Vilagos is an Olympic Medalist with over 15 years of business experience, mainly in the pharmaceutical industry. Vicky says she learned many lessons on the long hard road to the Olympics,...and many other lessons on the road as a sales rep and as a sales manager. Tonight she will share these secrets, and translate: "What it takes to succeed in sports" to "What it takes to succeed in business".

Despite the fact that Vicky and her twin sister Penny preferred the hot water in the showers to the cold water in the pool, they trained 5 hours a day and quickly made a splash in International competition. For 21 years, they leveraged their passion for achievement with a positive attitude and perseverance. And then in 1992 their dream came true in Barcelona - where they won the silver medal in duet synchronized swimming.

Vicky is extremely proud to be honoured as a member of the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame. She is also a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers in Montreal. Vicky now speaks to companies and sales forces in Canada and Internationally, inspiring others to be the best they can be. Her story demonstrates that teamwork, focus and determination can make dreams come true.

Vicky has been speaking to audiences since 1992, and she recommends the following tips to enhance the quality of your meeting. None of these suggestions are required:

• Windowless room with bright lighting is preferred
• There are to be no loud activities in adjacent rooms
• Room temperature should not exceed 20°C or 68°F
• Sound system is to be turned on and tested 2 hours before the program
• It is best to have a rectangular room setup with the stage area in the center of the long wall
• A raised platform will give audience members a clear unobstructed view
• Ask attendees to turn of pagers and cellular phones
• Chairs are ideally set up in a half-moon with 2 aisles on either side of center
• When videotaping, use BetaSp format rather than SVHS
